FAQ's regarding SLTnet - Mobitel Pre-paid Internet

The primary focus of this product is to allow Mobitel customers to use his/her mobile phone to top up and recharge his or her Internet account with the use of their pre-paid phone balance. Mobitel subscribers can access this service through the Mobitel menu. First the customer has to obtain a password form Mobitel with the use of the menu and the user name will be his/her phone number. With the use of these, customers can set up a dial up connection to the Internet.

Is this service available for both Post-paid and Pre-paid subscribers?

Yes.

What is the purpose of the product?

The product will replace the existing SLTnet surfing cards. The product can be used to purchase internet surf time instead of purchasing SLTnet surfing cards.

What is the access method used in this service?

Dial-up method.

What is the communication medium?

A phone line.

Can you use any phone connection?

Yes, any land line.

What is the charge per min?

The charge will be Rs 0.27 /= per min

Is there a charge for a new connection?

No. Connection is free of charge. Only the top up amount will be charged.

What is the minimum amount to top up?

Minimum amount is Rs 50/=.

Can a subscriber top up by any amount greater than Rs 50 /=?

Yes

How can the subscriber obtain a connection?

The service will be available in the Mobitel menu.

Select SLTnet top up from the SLTnet menu. (If you are a new user a new account will be created or your existing account will be updated)

• Enter the amount you wish to top up.
• Press OK
  Then you will receive a SMS from Mobitel which contains a password
  

What are the password and the username to access internet?

User name = mobile number.
Password  = the pin which is given by the Mobitel via SMS.

What is the number to connect to the internet?

Any SLTnet Dial-up access number or WiFi access

What is the validity period for any balance purchased for surfing?

The validity period of top up purchased will be proportional to account balance:

Rs. 50-200      - 90 days
Rs. 201-500 -  180 days
Rs. 501-1000 -365 days
