Mobitel introduces SMS in the local languages so that now everyone can use this revolutionary method of communication.

Sinhala/Tamil SMS

This service allows you to send text messages or SMSs in Sinhala or Tamil. To access this service initially, the user has to download the applet from the Mobitel WAP site. After a successful download the user can send Sinhala SMSs to any network. The applet download will be free.

Normal SMS charges will apply.

Voice SMS

You can now send voice messages, by simply dialing * followed by the Mobitel number. Charges are Rs.2.50 per message and retrieval is free. When the message is retrieved for the first time the recipient is given two options to reply or to forward. Mobitel vSMS comes to you with a number of new features.
