Mobitel gives SMART 5 a New Look - breaking traditional boundaries

Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, the National Mobile Service Provider, recently launched the "New Look" to SMART 5, further improvising on Sri Lanka's most innovative pre-paid product.
SMART 5, designed to provide absolute value to the customers and to simplify the process of choosing from a wide range of confusing pre-paid services in the market, has enjoyed phenomenal growth and success after it was launched in the year 2006. This package alone brought into Mobitel, in excess of 500,000 connections in the last year and continues to grow. Its major significance lies in the simplified pricing plan and other benefits that break down the barriers, allowing consumers from all walks of life to enjoy the benefits of mobile telephony at an affordable price. The new look of SMART 5
The service is categorized into basic and loyalty packages where subscribers that have been on board for one year or more automatically qualify for the loyalty packages.
- The free talk time for existing and potential customers under the basic category, now increases from 1 minute to 2 minutes.
- Customers who have been with the service for 1 year will qualify for a 10% reduction in price for all outgoing call charges and SMS/MMS features.
- Customers who have been with the service for 2 years will enjoy a 20% reduction in price for all outgoing call charges and SMS/MMS features.
- Incoming from Mobitel to Mobitel is absolutely free for all categories.
- The night time surprise feature which is active between 11pm to 6 am enables customers in all categories to make out going calls to any number on any network for Rs 2/ min only.
In addition to these benefits, subscribers also have the option of choosing from the following special features. The activation of these features is possible by simply sending in the activation code via SMS.
- Special feature 1 - Any 5: Any 5 is another breakthrough innovation where subscribers have the freedom to choose any 5 numbers regardless of the network it belongs to, to enjoy special charges for outgoing calls and other features. An added bonus is that with this feature subscribers will also be able to enjoy a minimal amount of only Rs 1/- per SMS to any number, other than the chosen numbers on Any 5.
- Special feature 2- Incoming totally free: This option enables the subscriber to have incoming totally free at any time, from any number, from any network.

Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel - the National Mobile Service Provider - is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom. In January 2004, the company launched its full-fledged GSM network that is EDGE/GPRS enabled and designed to operate on dual bands.
