Launch of JNW News Services to Mobitel Subscribers
Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel - The National Mobile Service Provider - recently entered into an agreement with JNW News to provide Mobitel subscribers with instant and up-to-date local news via SMS, with the aim of revolutionizing information delivery; a first in Sri Lanka’s telecommunication industry.
This service will enable Mobitel subscribers to receive updates on breaking news wherever they may be via SMS. It caters to a host of information needs, delivering general, economic, financial, leisure and sports news. This information will be sourced by JNW (Jasmine Newswires (Pvt) Ltd), which is a high profile news service accredited with the Information Department of Sri Lanka.
To register for this service, Mobitel subscribers simply have to type REG and send to 2233, upon which it will be available to both Pre-Paid and Post-Paid customers. All Mobitel subscribers are invited to register for this service and enjoy it free until the 15th of July 2007.
